A real dog, of a mess!!

Doggie do, still is and has always been, one of those ongoing issues with in the UK.

With the UK having such high numbers of dog owners, these dogs need their well deserved walks, and with walks, is also doggie toilet time.

The law states its the responsibility of the owner to clean up any #2 toilet goings that a dog may do along its walk, but now we find these ''packages'' are now turning up in peculiar places.

A Keyham resident told us about his mysterious ''package'':

The resident opened their door, and stepped onto their door step, straight into a " dog gift " which and owner clearly thought it was ok to deposit on someone's doorstep ( pic below ), as you can imagine this resident was irate and disgusted.

Another Plymouth resident has also said:

''Dog owners need to be more responsible and respectful. Now I realise some may say its an old issue, but it is one that has sadly escalated, even with the advent of black poo bags, I am seeing more and more dog owners simply not caring. Also when has it become ok to hang the poo bags from peoples gates ( which i have seen ), I myself also recently found 2 poo bags under a sofa in front of my house which was about to be taken away , the gap was so small from sofa to wall, they were obviously deliberately placed there, It unacceptable , on all levels.

Below are also some of the health risks that can occur , if you are too close to " dog gift ".

Dog mess can lead to Parvo, which is a potentially fatal disease which is transferred between dogs, but the key health issue with dog faeces is that it can lead to toxocariasis in humans. Toxocariasis is an infection transmitted from animals to humans (zoonosis) caused by the parasitic roundworms commonly found in the intestine of dogs (Toxocara canis)

We recommend, if you spot someone committing these offences, to report them to the relevant authorities, as people's health should not be put at risk, in this way, as the picture above demonstrates.
