Plymouth band ‘The Kites’ nominated for national music award

Local band, The Kites, have been nominated for the Independant Music Awards best live act of the year and are against artists such as AJ Tracey and Bombay Bicycle Club to win the award. You can cast your vote at the link belong to support the local music scene here in the South West and to help The Kites compete for this award.

The Kites are four young musicians, recently formed under Mousetrap Management, well known for their performances across Plymouth at a range of venues. With a rhythm section of cousins Ethan Bennett (drums) and Ben Cooke (bass) laying down a rock-solid, funkified groove, George Wilson supplying glamorous late 70's rock'n'roll riffage, and finally Joe Cocker's soul-quaking melodic voice, the Kites are an act to keep your eyes on. Taking influences from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Led Zeppelin and The Black Keys; their latest single “Breakwater City” is pure rock and roll. You can find them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter; their Spotify is linked below to hear their single.
